just to bug the soilencer, which do you prefer?

i like the older joss's (circa 1990)traditional styling, and think the schon's are too expensive for a production cue.

I like the looks of both. I have not hit with either so I can only say that from what I have read and heard either one will perform well. Some prefer the Schon hit and other the Joss. I say try each out yourself and make your decision from the experience.

Joss are production, but not Schons. They re more custom. He makes his old line because he says everybody stills wants them, and he doens't really like making them. The Schons are not a production line like Joss and McDermotts. You'd be surprised how many Schons are made per year, I believe it was around 400 at most!

ok so you can actually email shon and ask em to make a cue to you specs?

I have played with an old Schon SL21 since the mid 90's, I love the hit and feel of the cue. I have hit with many types of Joss cuesand I do not care for the hit, much to hard a hit for my tastes. I know many people who play with a Joss and love them, they are well built cue but just not for me.

i was at Cue Sports World in Evansville, IN about 3-4 years ago. i hit with a Joss Cue then, and thought it was awesome! based on that past experience, i just bought a Joss Cue - and cant wait to get rid of it. its on EBay (item # 3676126811) in case your interested. i'm willing to take a nice loss just to move it.

the butt sleeve/handle is too big for me, doesnt feel good and doesnt hit like the Joss i hit with in the past. i dont remember the Joss from 3-4 years ago being that big in the butt sleeve/handle area?

i am not buying any more cues unless i hit with them first.

I recently acquired a Joss and I love it. It could be that it is very similar to the hit of my Falcon, which I am quite used to. Also, I have 3 friends who play with Schons. I have also hit with these. 3 of us play with 19 oz cues, so the weights are very comparable. One friend plays with a 20, so I exclude my opinion of his cue, except to say it feels heavier than that and I dont like it. The Schons feel more butt heavy than the Joss, but some folks like that.
The balance points on the Falcon and the Joss are @ 1.5 " forward of the wrap. Joss makes a fine cue, and I'd definitely consider buying another one day. Schons are overpriced and do not fit my personal preferences. Can anyone tell me how a Judd's balance feels?
