I have to respectfully disagree here. I remember playing around with Meucci cues and I could draw the hell out of the ball but I couldn't make many long off-angle shots with a Meucci. I think one of the effective chracteristics of being able to draw the ball is shaft deflection and the curvature of the tip.
I had the same notion when I first had my cue, early 90's, I dont recall when it exactly change, but early 2000's all my cues had a stiff shaft, I did not notice any difference when drawing the cue ball and I can draw table length when the CB is in the middle of the table and object ball is near the pocket. Check out power draw videos by the pros from youtube, a lot uses Revo shaft these days and those are stiff.....
