Schon STL vs CX Series

ok, is there a difference between a Schon STL-7 and a Schon CX-02 as far as playability or value goes? the price seems fairly similar, just wondering which might be the best buy?

and in case anyone is wondering why i keep asking about cues, well, if you have heard of BRAC (Base Realignment And Closing), its the process of possibly closing military installations or realigning the work that goes on there to another facility, etc. i work at a naval base that could possibly be on the list this week of base closings. if our base survives, i might just have to buy myself a new cue to celebrate.

thanks,
DCP

DCP,

My first Schon was an STL-7 and I liked it a lot. I don't think you will find much difference in playability from one Schon to the next so my advice would be to find one you like and get it. They all play great.

I believe the CX line is available only through that one dealership, although the STL is sold by every tom dick and harry on this planet it seems for...20% off retail. They all boil down to about the same, except for Erik Lee. Somehow he gets away with selling them cheaper...shrug...I don't know how, but he does. Not saying its a bad or a good thing, just what I know. I got my LTD from him and had it almost a year now, still play with it as it is my primary cue.

DCP,
Heres the low down on the CX vs STL series cues. The CX series is a special line of Schon cues made for one wholesaler, CueStix International. In order to get that line of cues, a dealer has to be part of CueStix Intl's dealer network. The STL, LTD, ELITE, UNIQUE and SPs series cues are available to all Schon dealers. As far a playability goes, there should be no difference at all between the different lines of cues. There are also some LTD models that are exclusive to some wholesalers. Thats what I know and I stand corrected...
