He beat Gabe Owen5-1 to become the US Open champion. He made a spectacular match winning bank shot.On several occassions he appeared frustrated with his cue ball position but he found a way to get out on most of the occassions.
Third place goes to Ike Runnels and James walden gets 4th place.

Edited for the spelling correction, from Owens to Owen

congrats to Scott Frost

Nice to see somebody from your locality winning such a tournament, beating a champion "name" player from the east....Scott has been known to be one of the best one-pocket players around here in California, so this kind of elevates his status to world-class, in my mind....nice to see.....

Yeah, Gabe & Scott both like one-pocket and are very good at it, so I was curious how this one turned out. I had met Scott at Gabe's in Tulsa a few years ago, just before a road trip.
Very nice article on Scott in a recent magazine I received, I think it was BD. (I have so many pool magazines and things around here, I can't keep up with all of them!)
Congrats to both of them!

Congratulations, Scott! A local boy makes good. :D

I'm assuming he showed up on time this time? 80% of success is showing up, as "they" say.

Too bad he's not in the IPT. Kevin, get him in asap, please.

Yeah, I was just thinking of that....I beat a world champion nyah nyah nayh. :D

I'd say much of the credit for his skill in 1P goes to Don McCaughey (McCoy) who took him under his wings for a few years. Believe it or not, Don plays better 1P than does Scott. Don plays the best pool of anyone I've ever seen, including Buddy, Mike, et al. I'm not kidding.

No, I won't play Scott for cash again. I may take credit where credit is not due, but I'm not stupid. :p

No problem, I'm sure he feels like he's in an oven half the time anyway with all the pressure! Thanks for all the posts, I've enjoyed them!!

Congratulations to Scott and Gabe... both very nice guys and were missed in Atlanta for the Southern Classic Open one-pocket tourney!

Scott has been known as World Class for quite a while. And winning by such a large margin kind of cements it.
