I had a 2004 zebra wood 4-pt cue with maple and blue veneers quite awhile back. It was constructed well with nice/sharp veneers and it played well. I had also talked to Scott about it and he was easy to talk to. It is the top cue in the picture on the home page of his website (for reference):
I had a whisper a few years back. Well balanced. Nice hiit. Workmanship was very impressive. I am always perplexed at how some cue makers put out top notch work but can not demand a price that reflects their talent. He is also a nice guy to deal with.
Great guy, and quality cues. I have 3 of them. Some of his construction techniques are time-consuming, and the results are top notch.
I commissioned him to make the cue that would become my main player (follow the link in my signature) back in 2008. Since then quite a number of fine cues have passed through my hands, but none of them can compare to that one. I have never played with a better stick. I'm on Hercek's list, but it remains to be seen if even that cue (whenever it gets built :wink will supplant my Whisler...
But, alas, as others have mentioned, not currently active. Eventually, I think (hope), he'll return to it though.
