Scratch In Wrap

I was playing in a tournament Saturday Night when I notice what looks to be scratches in my irish linen wrap. It looks like something got dragged acrossed it and snagged them. The wrap is like glass so I can feel them really bad. I would like to send it back to my cuemaker to get a new wrap but can't afford to be with out my cue that long seeing as he is across the country and probably busy. Is there something i can do to get the "snaggs" flat till I have time to send it back and get a new wrap put on? Someone in town said use 1500 grit sandpaper then cue wax and go over it with a round glass to heat the wax into the wrap? Don't want to do anything to make it worse, looking for some suggestions

Thanks,
Biz

The first think I would do if I was you is get a new pool cue case if you have a cheap case that is what probally cause the scratch in the wrap i have had this happen with a crap case before. I would just use a little wax paper on it to smooth it out untill ya decide to send it in for a new wrap.
