Segmented Hawaiian Koa handle

This is my first attempt at a segmented handle.
Handle is Hawaiian koa and Tulip with black and brass rings.
learned that a pencil line does not work that well to use so that I could line up the grain. I have a better idea on what to do on my next attempt.
Cue stll needs some final touches before it is ready for play.

Just trying to help here, but On the pencil marks, did You mark the pieces before cutting them into segments or after? That may be the safest bet if not. Mark them before cutting, and it makes lining the grain up during gluing much easier. Segmented ring work can be much the same way, mark them before cutting and it makes lining things up a lot easier. sometimes I even mark one of the faces of each ring to make sure I don't get them reversed. Good luck with the builds, looks like your doing pretty good from what I can see.
