Electronics is getting cheaper everyday.
The modification to the table is entertaining

A automatic racking system will solve a lot of problems with racking/breaking in pool. Something cheaper and maybe a but more compact and univeral-ish to all tables would have to be the way to go.

In tournament play, players have to break the rack the machine gives them. In action play, same thing if rules were dictated to use the machine.

Practicing breaks is tedious. Break, rerack. Break, rerack. Break, rerack.

Break, rake and push button sounds much more appealing.

I haven't see one in years but remember that rack that you would press down on a lever then lift the rack.

It would need smart features to though, like ball placement (1 in the front in rotation, specific pattern or ball locations for rotation or 8 ball (8 in the middle).

It would also have to be designed well enough to actually give a tight as possible rack on the same location on the table. Not just a bit high of the spot, not just a bit low of the spot, but on the actual spot...

Something else to consider, further smart functions would be needed to take into account wear of the cloth so maybe it would need to be conbined with a on table template or something like that.

I had a Sardo. It lever pushing was more of a gimmick. The rack comes with a template where you would mark your table and place the rack, then you roll the balls into the back of it. Since you are consistently rack the balls in the same place every time, after the cloth was worn in a bit, you wouldnt need to press down on the lever anymore.

This designed would work for any manual rack as well. Mark the rack and your new cloth with little dots/dashes and line the rack up with the marks. Place the balls. The balls will be in the same exact spot every time you rack and the cloth divots will ended up holding the balls in place. You are essentially tapping your table the long way.
