Seminole Pro Tour

Day 1 of the season opener of the Seminole Pro Tour is in the books. We have a full field of 64 players who are competing at Strokers Billiards in Palm Harbor, FL. The event has $8,000 Added thanks to the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

Speaking of thanks, Strokers is a beautiful room and Jose Del Rio is sure to be thanked for that. The room is great, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere was electric. The place was packed as there were Poker tables hoppin all night as well.

As for the main event, we were fortunate enough to have Rodney Morris make an unexpected appearance, as well as top players like Corey Deuel, Ronnie Wiseman, Stevie Moore, Tony Crosby, Donnie Mills, Louis Ulrich and many more. Three women are entered into the event as well as Monica Webb, Helena Thornfeldt, and Gail Grecar take their shot at the men. Monica started the event off with a big win over John "The Bull" DiToro sending him to the one loss side 7-6.

Some other notable matches include Stevie Moore winning 7-6 over Justin Hall, and Adam Wheeler knocking off Louis Ulrich 7-4.

I will be able to come back with more updates late tomorrow night as our laptop is giving us fits, but the business center in the hotel seems to work great! Hope to see you all at Strokers throughout the weekend to catch some great action...

Pretty good talent here in Florida, wish we had some of these players out in Arizona.

Why wasn't Players in melbourne included in the tour this year?

It was nice to have some great players (no pun intended) in the area when the tour would stop there. It will be missed.

We decided to take two tournaments out of the state of Florida, and because of this had to make some important decisions. Unfortunately, based on many factors (one of them that we only had 8-9 tables available at Players) we decided to try out two brand new rooms that have opened in the state. Thanks for your understanding.
