Sending your customers a tracking number...

Please let us web site customers know when our package will arrive!

When I order things from some web sites which ship via UPS, I receive an email with a tracking number for my shipment. (From: QuantumViewNotify@ups.com) All I need to do is click on a link in the email, then it tells me when my order will arrive.

I then know when I should be home to receive my shipment.

At the bottom of the email, it says... "This e-mail was automatically generated by UPS e-mail services at the shipper's request".

This UPS service seems to be called "Quantum View Notify". It says "Notifications are provided at no charge".

It is always my policy to personally email my customers with the information on their custom cue as soon as I send it. The carrier - UPS, post office, FedEx, the guaranteed delivery date, any other information regarding the delivery, and the tracking number so they can personally track if they want to. I feel this is part of doing good business - product and service.
But I understand what you are saying, I have ordered via the internet and do not get any delivery information after the order is sent. So you just twiddle the thumbs waiting or spend time emailing or calling to find out when it was sent, what carrier, when maybe it will be here. And sometimes that is important since I live in a hay field, in grizzly bear habitat, driveway of 600 feet, and the ups lady doesn't like getting out and opening the gate and driving up here sometimes - so if I know something is going to be delivered I can be on the look out. Had $1,000 item just hung on my gate once!!!
