Shaft bending

I had a predator shaft that I could bend and it would stay that way. I think it had to do with the glue being too elastic and allowing the laminations to shift very slightly.

It's wood, it still moves. Some wood is just better then others.

Even some of the best cue makers shafts still will eventually bend.

Some of the best are good because they bend. I have a German friend that uses a 30+ year old Joss as his break and player. Fantastic cue. Like a wet noodle if you give it some, but straight as an arrow.

The topic is not about the elasticity of wood, it’s one of the properties of maple and this why it was chosen to be used for making shafts.

The topic is a bent shaft that is bent back…

And a good reason to go with CF especially when traveling to humid areas.
Kinda sucks to travel across the world for a tournament to find your shaft is bent…
Of course you can carry a few extra shafts instead.
