Shaft length

Don't most shafts, start out at 31/32 inch when there brought or been hanging in a shop to stabilize?
But if your buying cf or production shafts, i would imagine there is an up charge. Even if its just an inch!
I find the best for me is 30inchs.

Why are cue makers charging over $60 for that one extra inch? Crazy. I would like to get a revo 11.8 PRO Taper at 30inch but I'm sure I would get charged that extra $80 for that one inch and why are they using conical taper anyways..this is pool not snooker.
If you're talking wood shafts, ask in the cuemaker forum how much a custom taper bar costs. They would have to buy or build a new one. It's pretty complicated. For CF all I can say is that they know people will pay more so they charge more. You'll have to figure out if it's worth it to you.

Most shaft blanks I've found are 30 inches or slightly longer. Only reason I could see for charging more for a 30 than a 29 is to squeeze a little more out of a customer.
Maybe their setup is primitive and/or limiting and it's harder for them to make a longer one?

revo isnt a conical taper
Its nearly conical taper --- its hybrid-conical:
