I have a 12.82mm shaft and would like to turn it down to 12.50mm will this throw the balance off or is it ok thanks. My cue is a Madden cocobolo plain Jane 19.2oz I was also thinking of adding weight to about 19.6.

I wouldn't think so unless you worry about it too much. If it's balanced as of now you would have to take out weight after turning down the shaft. To maintain the balance point you can mark it with some tape then after the turndown adjust the cue weight until it's back in the same place.

Thanks for your response, the balance point is 19" i might just buy a 12.50mm shaft.
