So far my plan is comming together. My Home made air clamps work like a champ. They supply over 3,000 lbs of clamping pressure each. The boards turn out nice and tight. I got lucky and purchased a surface sander at a fle market for only $200. It does a supper job to plane down to glue up 4 boards. My wood finnaly arrived all 190 peices, all I have to do is glue and glue some more. I made 1 shaft over the weekend in 8 continuous passes in about 50 minutes. It turned out awsome. I made a pencil mark circle all the way around the circumference of the shaft at 1 inch intervals. I measured that point and wrote them down. Every week I am going to compare my findings. For now I am going to get them all glued up. I am having so much fun that I have forgotten my rear chuck problem, at least for a week or two anyways. I just wanted to share my progress with you fellows, that all.

If it was in good condition, that is a very good price for the Performax.

I'll take 20 blanks...$3 a blank sound good to you?

Looking good I'm a newbie too and have been a auto tech for 35 years and just started to make some cues, what will you take for a blank for me to expirement with as I like the way you stacked the laminates and restacked to square. Good use of air suspension bags, how much air pressure are you applying and are you using Gorilla glue or something else?Being Nosey Leonard
