Shape practice

I have recently taken up the game again after a 15-year absence. I am playing well but I am not leaving myself where I intend to. I would like some suggestions on practice scenarios for setting up the next shot.

I grew up on a large snooker table and was very good at shaping the next shot but I seemed to have lost my speed and spin control.

Thanks,

Okay ...

For practicing by yourself, cut out a 6" diameter
circle out of paper. When shooting a shot, put
the circle down on the table where you want the
cue ball to be after the shot. If not close, figure
out what you did wrong, change english. Repeat until your
cue ball goes on the paper or within an inch or so
of it. Set up another shot, Repeat, etc.. Gradually,
your touch for cue ball control will come back.

That's why it takes BALLS to play POOL good,
because it puts you into a LOOP until you figure it out,
and you have to be good to reverse a LOOP .... lol
