This has been awesome so far - Main event starting today. So pleased for my local hall to be hosting such an awesome event and they've done a bang up job so far! The set-up is really well organized. The Zen cue booth is absolute eye candy and it was great to watch many friends battle it out in the qualifiers for the main event. Looking forward to it, and will do a little write up with thoughts and more edited photos later... gotta make it through the days play first.
Enjoyed an evening playing with Mickey and Moritz a couple days ago, and it's crazy how good they are even when just casually chatting and fooling around. Both were pretty infatuated with the city, and its pool halls - should see the WTF look when they knew they can get tips, and their cues spruced up for free at the hall, and that this was a normal thing and not special treatment 🤣
The Zen Vs. Marboys Exhibition game was pretty good to watch last night, as Zen squad blew the Marboys away - Ko Brothers, Zhu Xi He and Fu Jian Bo Vs. Regalario, Aranas, Gonzales, Roda and Asis
Want to see Fu Jian Bo snap off this event. Such an awesome player to watch when he is in full flow. He gave Regalario a crushing in the exhibition.

Looks like it's the pool hall/club hosting the WNT event.
Yes, they just refurbed it. It's awesome. Will post many photos, and a write up when It's done. Some great matches today, some surprises and upsets. I played ok in spurts. Little pockets become even smaller when playing against some of the world's best.

very nice looking room.
40 tables, snooker, 4 private rooms, one Chinese-8 room, bar, coffee, cue workshop. Run by great people. Hard to think of anything it could be missing!

The lighting is perfect. Nice and dark except over the tables. Also great accent lighting under and above and around. Who ever designed the overall lighting scheme is a pro!!

Carom table? :p
They are getting a 10foot table, and I have been pestering the boss about a Carom table. There's only one I know of currently in the whole city!
I got destroyed. So now back to work, and after I will spend the next couple days taking some more photos and make a summary post of the event.

Event still going strong and now that I'm out, had to wait til after work to go catch the last 32 matches. Was some great matches on. My favorite being Wang Hung Hsiang coming back to beat Fu Jian Bo on the TV table.

Was playing a few smaller money games with local players last night, then a small woman comes up and asks me "hey, are you playing money games?" - I say "yeah, just chilling" - She said "I got one for you" - I realise then obviously she's an agent not a spectator, so I thought to myself, ok I'll humor this and see. "You want to play AJ Manas for...." - I said no before she even bothered saying the ridiculous amount that I'd certainly lose. Maybe If I hadn't got off a ten hour work shift I'd entertain playing a top gun who'd been playing literally all day 🤣

Will upload photos and a write up when I have time.

Quarter finals are looking spicy!

Yuan8 open and China Open.
Like Night and Day in terms of organization and play.
Both have some real interesting points to note.
Have tons of photos of Yuan 8 to post later. Will write up my experiences and comparisons of both when I have a moment.

i tried to youtube search for it and found some matches but also a chinese 8 ball event run concurrently also named china open. how dumb is that. didn't look like JOY so i assume it's xingpai or whatever that other table manufacturer is

Mostly Phillipino, Vietnamese or Taiwanese stream there games from China Open. China has it's own sports APP which broadcasts, and also some matches go on the TV. Youtube is hard with VPN. I know that Yuan8 open had issues using the software that takes the video from the Chinese App, so that it can be live cast to Youtube. I assume China Open doesn't even try with the live side of things on Youtube.

It's nice to see some big names finding the conditions tough too. I like the game format (side break, 4" Rasson tables)
