Shimming my pool table pockets

Hi Everybody...I currently own a Dufferin "Titan" 9 ft pooltable that I have in my basement of my home. I will be having it recovered with Simonis 860 soon
and I would like to have the pockets shimmed. I have read about people having this done and various methods of doing this but I am hoping to get recommendations of the best and proper method. My pocket sizes currently
are corners 5" at the mouth and sides are 5.5" at the mouth. I would like to reduce them to 4.5" and 5" respectfully. I am looking forward to your advice.
Thank you...Wayner
