shipping cues long distance (air) and damage

when shipping cues cross country and suffer damage from being frozen and then defrosted...
shouldn't the carrier be at fault?

when a pool cue is shipped by air, the plane enters a freeze layer, stratosphere.
hell, the cue's packaged properly, there wasn't a thing wrong when it left the shop.

because the package compartment of the plane isn't heated or insulated,
the tempreture in there drops to 20 below zero, the wood cue freezes and later defrosts.
of course it's coming out twisted like a pretzel.

how about it, who's at fault?

I think the cargo areas are heated. I'v never had anything in my luggage freeze and pop

Never known of this problem before...
Good insulation and heavy packing seems to work

I think they are pressurized too. or else the plane would collapse. as said, just not as warm.

I don't get why people get cues shipped. It will warp.

I buy local.

Thank goodness there are some good California builders that I can go pick up when ready.

If you don't read exactly how the items are carried, the carrier is not at fault. Since you already seem to know about the conditions of the where the cargo is at, don't send it in a way that can damage it. If there is no direct damage to the item, I don't see how they can be liable unless they state that the item is shipped in 100% climate control from start to finish.

Plus as others have said, I never had my bag arrive frozen at the luggage pickup and have had a cue in there a few times.

I have had plenty of cues shipped, without warping or any other damage.
Occasionally it might take the cue a day or two to settle to the new climate as I live next to the water, but have never had any lasting damage, bar possibly a tapper role.

People get cues shipped because they want something they can't get locally.
