I'm surprised I haven't seen much discussion on the impact of the shot clock on the US team. I thought the Euros were much more comfortable with the shot clock than the US.
1. Since no tournaments that I know of use a shot clock, how can the US team get used to it during match level pressure? Practice is one thing but they need to get used to it 'under the gun'.
2. Since tournaments can't afford to have referees at each table, aren't there chess clock type of devices that could be used on each table by the players? This would also help to address slow play even if it was a 1 or 2 min clock.
