shrpen tool bits

Don't have any pics available at this time but if you do a search here I believe some ideas and info should pop up.
Just get the inserts that are designed for cutting aluminum and soft metals like brass and such.
There are a variety of shapes and cutters and holders. Just make sure you match the insert to the holder as there are a variety of sizes. Best to purchase them together.
I get most of mine off ebay, off shore EZ packets ship. Takes a couple weeks to get them. Once you find what works for you order enough that you don't need any for a couple years.

I'll put a little peanut butter on the spoon for you.
These are the 2 holders that are a main stay on my lathe. The R is for right hand. You can change it to an L if you want a left hand cutter. The same insert will fit either R or L. Also, the 1212 is the shank size thickness on the holder in MM. There are different shank sizes available depending the type of lathe you are using. 1212 would indicate that the shank is 12mm square

The inserts can be a bit of a challenge and take some research. Learn what the "numbers" mean on the insert package for the different radius at the tip and insert size to fit the holders. Once you do all this, you will be a happy camper.
🤠
