Size of a table?

How do you measure a table to see what the size is? I have what I believe is a 9 foot Olhausen table and it measures 8'8" from the top outside of the cushion to the same spot on the other end.

I have a friend that has a Brunswick and he swears it's an oversize eight but I never heard of an over sized eight. So I would like to get an accurate measurement.

I have an 8' table and its about 7 1/2 by 3 1/2 playable(measured from tip to tip of the rails) They do make oversized 8's. Wish I had more room in my basement.

an 8 footer is 44" x 88" between the nose of the cushions (playing area), a 9 footer is 50 x 100 between the cushions. Oversize 8 would be 46 x 92.
