Where are the pictures?
Skips cues will generally warp after about two weeks of use. If that doesn't happen, the leather wrap will literally shrink but because the adhesive he uses, instead of coming off the cue and ripping apart, it literally squeezes the handle of the the butt area until it actually shrinks down to the diamater of a broom stick. You paid way too much for that cue. But I'd be glad to take that trouble maker off your hands for about $800!!
Seriously, I think you got a great deal, and although likes and dislikes in a cue differ from player to player, you have a cue that the greater majority of players would consider an extrememly well made cue.

...but...he forgot to mention that Skip's points and veneers are the WORST excuses for points I've ever seen!! They're NEVER even....they're made of PLASTIC...and there's more glue visible than actual wood!!!
Okay...okay....that's ALL B.S. - Skip makes a phenomenal cue...and mine plays like a dream. I had mine built to my specs, then wound up parting company with it for awhile. I thank the pool gods (and American Express) that I could get her back home. I love the cue, and I'm sure you will love yours. You got a WICKED deal on it...and it'll hit as nice as you could hope for!

You did good. I used to own an 8 point ebony-nosed Skip....it is in the Gallery Forum. You can just click the Skip Weston link in Zeeder's post to see all the Skip cues AZer's own.
I think you're really gonna like the way the ebony nose plays....I did. I still miss that cue, but it went to a good home here, and it did help finance my current Skip. Hopefully, one day, I will be able to get it back.His cues really like to be played....the more they're played, the better they get, IMHO...but then again, I have been accused of being biased.
