Hi Guys,

I'd like to offload my sledgehammer 1 that I've used for about a year. It's still straight.

Here are the specs:

Red stained
Black Irish Linen Wrap
About 20oz

There are a couple of small dings in it and one small chip in the finish but nothing obvious nor anything that affects play.

$150 shipped OBO, with joint protectors.

Why are you selling it? I have a Players cue with a phenolic tip. What would I gain by purchasing the Sledgehammer? I am serious.

not much difference except the sledgehammer has a more solid hit on the break. also, his cues are better quality. a new one on ebay is around $180-$200 though. if u want a nice jump break, buy an andy gilbert or petree.

I'm definitely interested. Are you in champaign now? If so, I'd like to look at your sledge. I'm playing in the strait pool league tuesday nights at Jillians, maybe we could meet there? Ask for Boyd, anyone can point me out.

Although I have never personally tried the players break, I am very sure that tigermaster is right when he said that it produces a more solid break. I find that my cue jumps very well, the construction will be better than the players. Also, a number of pro and semi-pros either endorse the sledge or used to endorse it, so it's definitely a great break cue. I'm not sure if players emulated its break cue to mimic the sledge, but my understanding was that the sledge was one of the premier BJs with a phenolic tip to hit the market.

However, I don't agree with tigermaster telling you to buy a Gilbert BJ to break and jump with...I play with a Gilbert myself and I have tried a Gilbert BJ as well. As what most of the people on this forum will say, the Gilbert BJ will be great to actually ~play with. I am not familiar with the Petree BJ.

Dear Boyd, you probably don't remember me, but I met you and Dave eons ago at the old pool hall on campus. Yes I am still in champaign now, and I actually recently signed up for the straight pool league. However, I don't know if I will be going to that this week cos I might be somewhat busy, but if you'd like to come to campus, I can definitely meet you up then.

I saw Dave a few times a while back when playing at Crane Alley, and he told me that you had quit pool. I'm glad you're taking it back again.

I will pm you my cell, just gimme a call.

Forgot to mention that I am selling it cos I am considering an xbreaker.

Excuse my ignorance, but I have never done an on-line transaction except books from Amazon.com.
