Hi, i am considering buying a "proper" break cue and from reading the threads on here it looks like a sledgehammer seems to be the way to go. Two questions though before I take the plunge and part with my hard earned cash!

a) Is this cue legal in all comps and if so is it under threat of becomming illegal? (wouldn't want to buy it if I can't use it in 6 months!)

b) Do you really think I need to have a hit with this cue before I buy it or is there no need? (I can not find a local supplier?)

Cheers

Craig

the cue is legal. but i think very over rated for the money.
i break with a mcdermit jump break and it does just fine.

You can buy a cheap hustler cue and (as long as it hits 'em stiff) have a cuemaker put a phenolic or G-10 ferrule/tip on it and crack pack after pack. Much cheaper.....similar if not the same results. JMO

P.S. I've seen this G-10 ferrule/tip on a jump cue, and it almost seems like cheating it jumps so well.
