Slump or not?

I played in a A-B-C handicap tournament yesterday and failed to cash again. This is the third one in the last 5 weeks and I'm about to pull a Dr. cue's protege and and throw my cue thru my wall. Oh wait I can't do that, {sorry Protege} just trying to lighten up the mood on the board. It seems I'm playing some of the best pool I've ever played and still can't get there. The shots I get left are agonizing and I pull off the jump sot or kick the ball in, only to be rewarded with an un-godly bad roll. Yesterday, I must have pocketed 8 or 9 balls on kickins just to be left with a length of the table jump shot, due to a bad kiss. I love this game and the challenge of maintaining my confidence and ability to pocket balls when the balls roll funny. I look at this as my payback for all those great rolls I received in past hill matches. Hopefully this will all terminate before I get to Vegas and the Pool Gods will start to show a little compassion. Do you have something you tell yourself when this occurs? Do you consider this a slump? Do you complain and throw things? Do you still tell your opponent good match or call him {or her} a lucky SOB and offer them the 7 ball? Sam

Well a couple of things, Sam. If you call him a lucky SOB, only use the letters as we've done here and don't say it in it's fullest content. (Never know when there could be a top corporated exec loaded with bread at the next table) :p Also when you tell your opponent good match, before leaping over the table like the net on a tennis court, always check the height of the lamp over the table. And lastlty...all bad luck and rolls eventually go away. You'll be just fine. You might want to buy a real cheap cue for breaking purposes in the mean time. ;)
