I got the cue from Leon and have been playing it for close to 2 weeks now. Since this is the first modern era cue that I have ever owned or even played much with, I don't have too much to compare it to.

I like the much thinner feel it has than the fatter butt old school cues. The cue also feels to be more of "one piece" probably due to the pin. I am guessing that the cue gives me about 15% more ability to put various strokes on the cue ball. My overall number 1 impression of the cue is that it hits "straight."

So overall I am quite please with the cue. It wasn't a magic wand for my game, but at just north of 50 I am not naive enough to think I'll ever find one.

Pros: Hits "straight", nice taper feel, good design, good value for the $, Leon easy to work with/good communication, expands my stroke by 15% over old school cues with similar effort

Cons: Points are close to but not dead nuts even (at this price point I would say they are close enough), small "burn through" mark on ebony butt.

Subjective Ratings

Playability = 7.75/10
Fit and Finish = 7.25
Overall Value = 8.5

Would I buy again = Yes
Bottom Line = Nice player for <$500

The Sly is starting to come into its own now. I had a great session with it last night. The cue especially seems to love to gently roll in the long balls. Which is great since I can't see squat anymore.

Hey, fred thanks for the review it seems that your getting use to the cue i'm glad you like it thanks, again Leon Sly.

Thank you, Leon. The whole process was a pleasure! I just wished that I could play up to what the cue is capable of offering. Realistically though, if I can get a 15% stroke improvement just by using my Sly, I think that's huge!!!

PS. the cue gets a ton of compliments
