Wow I'm stoked I have got with Sly and have him making me a J/B that is coming along great. He sent me pics of this cue the other day and I want to post them... I know some here think I pump Sly up to much but the price Sly charges , And the cue you get for the money these cues are a steal . Just for the record I also feel the same way when you get a Jimmy Lee cue or Doug Patrick these three guys are making cues that are way under rated at a price that we all can afford and there is no telling how long this will last sooner or later they are going to go up ...

I would love to be like TIKKLER the guy has some amazing cues that are pure beauties ... I idolize a collection like that but hey some of us are not as fortunate to have a collection like that (And Steve Tikkler has always been a stand out guy to me , He has never said a word to me that was not kind or polite or positve I'm just using his collection of cues as a example beacause they are so beautiful) . But the reality is many of us are simply not futunate enough to be able to afford cues like that in this time in America ...Heck right now man people are wondering where they will get thier next meal from ... Looking for jobs and living day to day ...These are hard times in America ... So when I came on here I bought several cues from guys that I figured were up and coming cue makers ... I use to get PM's from people asking what I was going to do with all those cues ... Heck I still do ... I was looking for cues that had great playabillity ... Cue makers that were polite and wanted to do the work you wanted , Cue makers that did great work ,Cuemakers who looked to have a upward future in the business ...Where some day they had the potential to be a big name in the business on down the road... Hey Bushka , Black Boar , Szamboti etc ... they all had to start somewhere ...

I admit I am no expert I'm a working man like many of you ... I work hard for what I got ... I try to give back to those in need when I can afford to ... I consider myself fortunate to have a roof over my head , a Job to go to and food to eat ... But most of my family and friends make me rich that is where my fortune lays especially in my Son and 5 1/2 month old Grandson. I use to walk into a rec supply store and stare at the cues I could not afford to buy some 25 years ago ... Now I'm fortunate enough to be able to buy a few ... While still not fortunate enough to own some of the big collectables ...lol... I admit that there are several good up and coming cue makers that are out there that I would love to try thier product just have not gotten there yet... Mason H definatly is one ... Garcia is another , Tony Zinzola is another ... and there are many more...
There are also guys out there that do build a good cue I just don't use the type joint that they use or something along those lines...

But as I said of the cues I have tried and liked ... So far I have found that Leon Sly , Jimmy Lee and Doug Patrick are very solid cue makers putting out a great product at a great price ... They are also very easy to talk to and will bend over backwards to make you happy... I would be glad to deal with any of these guys at any time and know I'm getting a steal on a great cue with a great hit at a great price... I know there are those out there that would just like to see me stop posting about this and be quiet ... But I refuse to let other people dictate to me what I should say ... Who's cues I should buy ... Who's cues I should promote or who I should be friends with ...Or rather or not I tell other posters what I think is a great cue at a great price I have had many buy a Sly and then PM me to tell me Thank you ... Because of your posts it helped me to lean towards and buy a Sly and it is the best hitting cue I ever owned ... So here I go again posting what I believe in ... If you don't like it you don't have to look ... But if you do pick up the phone and give one of these guys a call... As I said they are easy to talk to and if nothing else at least you will enjoy the conversation and learn a little about cues ...

Here is that J/B . Sly is making for me ... I am really looking forward to this it will slide into my case very nicely beside my Sly Wrapless player mad with Brazailian Rosewood and Olivewood ...

The Cue is :

Cocobolo Forearm and butt sleeve ...

Birdseye Maple Handle ...

The finish wieght will be between 18 and 18.25 ozs...

There will be decorative ring work around the joint ...

I opted not to put alot of ring work in this J/B after all it is only a J/B...

It will have a phenolic ferrell on it ...

Also it will have a White Diamond tip on it ...

The cue really has some nice wood in it and best of all it is a Sly ... I personally prefer a Sly to play with the hit is unbelievable and the money value for the cue you get is phenominal...

Here are a couple pics Sly sent me ...
