Small room planning questions.

Yesterday I received a phone call from an old friend asking for my help and advice on planning for his pool room he will be opening. I haven't even seen the building yet but wanted to get some general guidelines and ideas before taking the measurements next week. He is planning to open on March 1st but doesn't even have the keys yet so time is going to be critical.

From the square footage of the main room it looks like he is going to be able to have 6, 9' tables with some extra space for seating. There is a smaller room with a half wall separation that will hold 2 smaller tables and some additional seating. And this leads to my questions.

How much seating per pool table would be desirable in a family friendly environment?

Do bar height tables and stools discourage families?

Do 9' tables discourage family and youth participation?

I would really appreciate some of your input on this as I have never dealt with the under 21 side of this business. I have the contents of a 8,500 sq ft room in storage with plenty of bar height furniture. But if it is not right for his business plan, it can stay in storage.

Thanks

Seats, I think 3-5 seats per table. How tall the tables are I dont think matter. I like small tables for people that dont know how to play pool because they can make a ball sometimes. Have food is very important so make room for cooking if want to make money. This is just my opinion, Bubba
