Smoke Smell in a Wrap

How the heck do you get a smoke smell out of a cue? I played in a local tourney last weekend in Mississippi and now my cue RANKS of smoke. I tried a little light spray of fabreeze on a paper towel and wiped it down. Still has a smoke smell, but not nearly as bad. Any ideas? As you can tell, I don't smoke....stunts your growth ya know :).

Man I hate when that happens. I've always gone to an area where a lot of people walk there dogs and rolled my cue in "you know what". Damn if it doesn't work like a charm. You'll NEVER have a smoke smell in there again.

Well shorty...
Here are the only two things i can think of.
Either have no wrap at all, or just start smoking :D

Smoke Smell will dissipate with time in a Cool Climate, or a Cool place. Do you have the ability to take your Cue to work with you in a Nice Air Conditioned Office.

Ah Shorty, now I do feel a little bad about taking that cocobola cue off your hands. :D

I don't get over here to AZB often and didn't realize who you were. :o

You don't feel nearly as bad as I do...argh...that teaches me....place a reserve on a cue next time. She hits good don't she?

I've used Pledge (Lemon scented) the furniture polish on it and it seemed to work, but I don't know what the long term effects of that might be.
Fortunately MA has gone no smoking and I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Nawww

I am having Mike Webb put a leather wrap on it once I am done with my tournament this weekend.

Shorty,

The leather wrap will make the smoke situation much better. However, you may still notice a bit of the smoke smell even with it. I know I do after playing 2-4 hours in the smoke filled rooms.

Some other people do as good a leather wrap as Mike, nobody does a better one. The likelihood he'll make a mistake is very low, but the best part is Mike stands by his work and will be there for any legit complaint.
BTW, Mike is the one who suggested Pledge on my leather wrap, I made the huge mental leap to try it on the linen on my own. :D

I still like Mink oil better. For best results, bring it to a cuemaker. Miner buffing is okay but you just can't get the "SAME" results as we do.

Shorty, It hits good. I decided a while back I like a wood to wood joint over a heavy stainless joint.

Also no smell in the wrap. :)
