I have heard some people say Sneaky Petes from like Bob Frey or other top cue makers hit better then custom cues. What do guys mean by hit? I can't afford a custom cue so I decided to go with a Sneaky Pete from Bob Frey for my self. I don't know much about hits and so forth. I just go by what plays well for me.

'hit' means different things to different people. a lot of what i call 'hit' is in the properties of the shaft, with weight, balance, and materials all adding some small aspects. i would say my frey sneaky has a nice solid hit (firm but not stiff), but the balance (on the one i had) is a little to the rear for me. it feels like a _nice_ house cue to me. your cue may vary.

the scruggs sneaky i owned had a nice stiff hit, but was too light. what a shame.

i'm sure you'll like your Frey, he does good work.
