Im just wondering if theres anywhere I can buy pieces for a snooker cue. Specifically: snooker style butt plate for "wedge" flat part of cue, brass ferrule, bumper with flat side like a "D" shape. thanks

All of those parts can be made. The chamfer on the butt can be cut in the lathe. The brass ferrule can be made also but most are now using linen phenolic in my part of Canada. The bumper can be cut for the flat side using a wet razor knife. Any Canadian supplier should have the ferrules and bumpers in stock. Zimmy, Billiard Wholesalers, Canada Billiards.

Brass ferrules account for 99.999999999999999999% of cues in the uk .
Bumpers have never been used (barring the cheap house cue rubbish) although cues without butt extensions are still made and usually have a leather pad glued on they are mainly bought by uk pool players who only very very rarely need an extension.
Two piece cues are still made but raely bought most players prefering the 3/4 jointed cues although one piece cues are now almost as popular.

If your after ferrules joints and butt joints ready made i suggest you contact any of the uk cuemakers. Ferrules are about £1-£2 and Joints around £5-£8
www.craftsmancues.com of Leeds for one would supply them i've no doubt as they are often sold on ebay.

Nameplate badges however are not so readily available most cuemakers opt for a circular badge, merely a bit of acrylic laser engaved. The best looking badges imo are enameled (as on caftsmans classic cue range) but your then looking at a minimum order of a hundred or so as the cost is in the making of the original. 100 should work out at about £1 -1.50 apiece.

If your just after a few small badges then look to a brass disc as i do stamped with my initials for about £4 each availably from any decent trophy shop.

This badge was fractionally too small for the hole in the butt so I mixed a little black paint in with the araldite used to fix it and it gave a nice black border within the tulipwood butt)
