I want maximum comments to this topic.. I just want to know which is your favorite game snooker or 9 balls??

Snooker... but no tables available for about 60 miles - so I guess it has to be 9-ball by default.

In fact, I'm betting two of the snooker tables that I did know about in the area are no longer playable - they were in Joplin, MO.

If those are my choices snooker for sure. 9 and 10 ball feel too one dimensional. It doesn't have the strategy of snooker nor it's challenge. Plenty of B players have made 5 packs playing 9 ball, but very very very few of those same players could run a century. If any.

Now, throw 14.1 and One Pocket in the mix and it becomes a tougher decision. I'd choose 14.1 over snooker, but One Pocket would lose out. Love all three games though.

I like this post the best.
..not fair to compare 9-ball and snooker...9 or 10-ball are 'short games'
If I could host an all-round championship...it would be snooker, straight
pool, and 3-cushion on their respective tables.

To me...a century at snooker or straight pool get the same respect...
...and a 10 run at 3-cushion is just as tough.

..my opinion, of course

Silly question. :D
This is a snooker forum.
People here like snooker.

Any game where you can win (or lose) by pocketing a single ball lacks intellectual integrity.

Prefer 8-ball to 9-ball.
Never play straight pool, but do have Phil Capelle's Play Your Best Straight Pool on the shelf because Straight Pool info is the most applicable to snooker.
IMHO :D

Americans have a puritanical streak - they refuse to play snooker on anything except a snooker table, but snooker on a 9 foot pool table is superior to 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 or 15 ball pool games on 9 8 7 or 6 ft pool tables.
Again
IMHO:D

Both are great games to play. If you ask which one is favorite to watch, i say if there is amateurs playing, definitely 9 ball. If top pro´s playing, definitely snooker.

I don't have a favorite. I'll watch any game (including billiards or something as obscure as Russian pyramid) as long as an exciting player or a top player is playing. For me exciting in snooker includes awesome break builders and shotmakers (e.g. Ronnie O'Sullivan, Ding Junhui, Stephen Hendry, and recently Judd Trump). And Efren Reyes can make any pool game interesting. I don't know much about pro billiard players but when they make runs it's always fun to watch.

I just have much respect and admiration for these people because what they do is not that easy!
