Snooker to 9 ball

just wondering what your thoughts on this might be. With the Conversion of Women snooker players to nine ball and the success they have had, do you think after playing nine ball so much and getting used to the big pockets and being able to cheat the pockets and still make balls that the players still would be able to play as high level of snooker as they used to? Seems to me I might not be quite as easy to go back to the big table with the small rounded pockets.

Well with their work ethics and dedication to being a champion, I wouldn't think it would take long for them to get back into form...It would just be a matter of time....

But it would be nice to see espn air some of Corr's and Fisher's matches from when they played Snooker....

When I worked abroad I was home every second weekend. With only pool tables to play on out there, that short period was still enough to totally wreck my potting. Although I'd played snooker for years, I still remember being amazed how big the snooker tables looked with fresh eyes. Covered with coloured peas it seemed. But when you've become used to expressing yourself on the panoramic fairways of St. Andrews, you never get the same satisfaction playing pitch and putt.

It's relatively easy to go from snooker to pool. The cloth and cushions are slip-slidey wierd, but you get use to them, and there are things you can do on a pool table which you would never dream of at snooker. Potting balls is a doddle though. I have only the highest admiration for anyone who tries to go the other way. It must be a daunting experience.

different strokes for different folks

Although I grew up playing 8 and 9 footers, and lots of Snooker (regular, 6 ball, etc), I do not care for it today.

I am 5'7" and I do not like using a crutch very often like I have to when I play on a 9 footer or Snooker table. I have real bad eyes, and contacts can only correct to 20/40, so I like to halfway be able to see down to the end of the table.

If I play on a Snooker table today, I like to play Golf. And I have not played
1 pocket for 3 1/2 years now, besides I have to be in a certain mood for the slowness of 1 pocket.

And as for regular golf, I alway like the pitch and putt courses, took much less time, was fun, and you didn't have to lug 60 lbs of clubs around.
