Sounds of a cue tip

I like a nice thud to my cue. But I have a McDermott that on some shots, not all, there is more of a high pitch ting or crack. The ferrule looks fine. I had a cue shop look at the weight bolt and make sure it was tight. They thought it might have something to do with the hardness of the tip.

What sounds would be considered normal from a cue? Is it normal to get a different sound for different shots? I just received a Coker cue and it has the same characteristic, even more so then the others. It came with 2 shafts and both shafts do it. It plays fine. I believe it came with Triangle tips. It makes the sound more on centerball and follow. Not so much on draw. But it really is a quite pronounced crack.

As I walk around the pool hall, I notice that some other cues are doing the same thing.

Is this normal? Or is there most likely an issue. On the other forum, people mentioned delaminating tip, ferrel not faced properly, uneven application of glue, loose ferrel. But I thought the expert cue makers would know for sure.

Now that I think about it, I suppose it is more of a cracking sound than a ting. It's not like when you hit a golf ball with a metal driver or what an aluminum cue sounds like when struck. More like there is a little tiny plastic bubble being burst. I'm assuming this is a very common issue and am just looking for the experts to tell me what it is. Regards
