South carolina 8-ball??????????

Gang, I'm talking to an old road player the other day and he mentions that he once played an 8 ball game in South Carolina, with a very unique rule.

After the break, the 8 ball would be spotted ontop of a cube of chalk. The rule is that no balls can touch the 8, loss of game,until it's time to pocket the 8, at which point the 8 must be struck while it's resting on the chalk.

Anybody hear of this game before?

I have seen it played around here before never in a tourny mostly drunk guys in a bar. I dont know were it originated but it is still played occasionally around here.

most of the players in s.c. are drunk anyway!!!in most of your small bars, they have house rules that takes a half day to read posted on the wall. BEEN THERE DONE THAT"AND THAT ALL IM GOING TO SAY ABOUT THAT':thumbup::thumbup:
