Hello Everyone,

For those of you looking for a tournament to play on Friday nights in the Orange County/ Los Angeles California area, I think we have what you are looking for. Every Friday starting September 10, 2010, I will be running an Open 8-Ball Tournament at the OC Sports Grill in Orange, CA. Here are the details:

7-8 Practice
8pm Start Time
8 Ball Jackpot (Five players will be picked to break every week)
450 N. State College Blvd

Diamond 9' Tables (Tournament Blue Cloth/ Pro-Cut Pockets)
$10 Entry Fee (No Green Fees - $1. will be taken out of each entry fee for the break pot)
8 plyrs min. & 32 plyrs max.
Double Elimination
BCA Rules - No 3 foul rule
Loser Breaks
Race to 2 (Winner's Side)
Race to 1 (One-loss Side)

The only Tournament I'm running there is a Friday Night 8-ball Tournament at this time. I will certainly keep everyone posted if there are more pool events added. Anything, in particular, you are looking for?

9-ball, 10 ball or straight pool.

Well, as far as 9-Ball, you can, more than likely, find a tournament just about everday of the week...except Fridays. Fridays seem to be a slow tournament day. Shooter's in Riverside, CA hosts a weekly Ten-Ball tournament every Saturday at 1pm. As far as Straight Pool (a personal favorite of mine), Don Harp (out of Riverside) has put together a Handicap Straight Pool Tournament every 2nd Sunday of the Month at Shooter's in Riverside, CA. Practice Starts at 11am and Tournament Start Time is 12 noon. Check it out!
 
Tournament Results

Hello Everyone,

First of all, thank you everyone for coming out and supporting the tournament last night. We had a great tournament with an exciting final. We had a Full Roster of 32 players filled by 7:45 last night. Here are the Results of the 1st Friday Night OC Sports Grill 8 Ball Tournament:

1st place = Tuan "Tuanito" (from Hot Shots) $125. plus a free Sketch donated by DIGI SKETCH
2nd place = Dave C. "Underdog" $58.
3rd place = Mike Berrry $35.
4th place = Frank "The Barber" Almanza $20.
5th/ 6th place = Ramin B., Johnny Kang $15
7th/ 8th place = Matt, Nolan $10.

We had $32. plus an added $20. for the 8 Ball Breakpot to equal $52. Five players were picked at random but nobody was able to snap the 8 on the break. This will roll over to next week.

Tournament Updates: Tournament Practice will start at 7:30 instead of 7pm, although, I will still be taking sign-ups at 7pm.

A big thank you must go out to The OC Sports Grill for supplying a great venue and Donnie Wessels (SD Billiards) for supplying TOP NOTCH Diamond tables...and also a big thank you to Jennifer Lynn for assisting me in the tournament.

For next week...Get there early, this tournament fills up fast!
