Hmmm. Last year it was announced (or maybe I should say rumored, as I don't truly remember).......that they were going to switch the dates in May from the BCA Vegas event to the Tunica one.......and then the BCA would take the July timeframe.
May, June or July is all fine with me. I kinda prefer May, since it's closer and the weather will be a bit nicer in Missisippi, as opposed to the middle of the summer.
After the DCC is over with, the Diamond company would have most of February and then all of March and April.....and then maybe a bit of May to pull it off.
In theory, it seems like a long enough turn around, but I'm probably pretty naive to all of the logistics of pulling off huge events every couple of months.
I'm sure there's so much more that goes into this stuff than we could imagine.
I'd love to see the DCC at the end of January to kick off the New Year. Then Tunica in May. Maybe something in Southern Cali or Vegas in early August. Then the year's finale in late October somewhere on the East coast.
That would be a seasonal tour of the Mid-East part of the country, the Deep South, the West coast and the East coast. Figure up points accrued for all 4 events and boom, you have a National Champion......or World Champion, if you feel like calling it that.
I'd like to see some of these "smaller" events, such as the White Diamond Calcuttas, Hard Times tournaments, the Archer Classic, Shannon Daulton's tour, Red Shoe's bank tourneys, etc. figure in as regional affiliations of all this.
