southwest shafts question

question on SW cue shafts , I looked at alot of southwest cues and alot of others (cue makers) cues out there and I find that southwest cues put out more shaft sizes (odd sizes) then any other cue makers, so are these cues ordered that way(special shaft sizes) or are the shafts made for a better balanced cue.

for one thing every southwest is sold before its made
so it is being made to the customers wants

and there normal taper plays very stiff so i believe they have offered a pro taper for some time now
also due to the stiffness of their shaftwood and taper their
12.5 mm will hit equal to or harder than Joss' 13.25 mm
