by Eddie Robin and others.
Hardcover, 8.5x11
Very much like new, in the original box covers.
SMS is the first edition which needed no corrections or editing;
W1P is the preferred and corrected Second Edition.
Autographs: Eddie Robin, Billie Incardona, Ronnie "Fast Eddie" Allen as he liked to style himself in later years.
RA used his own silver sharpie (he came prepared for autographs) and signed on every page where he was mentioned.
These books were purchased from Eddie Robin on Ebay in late April 2007 for about $180 and $190 each, delivered.
I studied the books on several occasions. Each time they were handled carefully, then put them back in their original cardboard covers, and placed in a dark drawer in an air-conditioned room, sealed in a plastic bag so they would remain in pristine condition as best I could manage. There are no known marks on any pages, except for the autographs.
As an added bonus to the purchase of the book, ER included telephone instruction that covered fundamentals of the game, at that time a priceless extra for me. He still offers some pool instruction along with the sale of a book, a valuable extra for those who benefit from instruction.
These books still command high prices, despite Eddie Robin doing all he can to get the prices back down even in the face of their scarcity.
SMS currently has one Ebay auction listing starting at $158.95 and including free expedited shipping. That copy of SMS is the first edition like mine, likewise it is a 3-lb. beautifully hardbound 8.5x11 book, ER's is new, mine is nearly new and has some valuable extra autographs.
Price history:
Winning One Pocket second edition - ER auctioned his last copy of W1P on Ebay well over a year ago, and the final price was $277. Some time before that he used Ebay to sell a slightly imperfect W1P for $177. `The average of the last 16 sales of W1P (18 before throwing out the high and low sales) was right at $200 per book. ER probably included free shipping.
Shots, Moves and Strategies - ER sold about 30 of these over the past couple of years for $168 each, with free shipping.
My Price - as noted above it is $350 for the set of two books and includes free shipping to the lower 48.
Feel free to make an offer for any single book, but right now I don't know if Panjo allows that to go through.
