Sponsorship for the IPT and players?

What sponsors for different players are getting onboard
with the IPT and advertising along with 'their' player(s)?

Also, what type of sponsors do you think that the IPT will
draw, besides Kevin's companies, of course?

With KT putting up $15M big ones just for 2006, what would a potential sponsor have to add? another $15M big ones? Wow.. a $30,000,000 tour?

just too good to be true... I can't wait to hear about the payouts after the King of the Hill match in December.

I think many larger corporations will most likely see how thw first few tournaments pan out, but I look for an announcement very soon about a sponsor being added. With the Morris Agency out there stirring the juice, someone with the need to get some advertising play without paying the PGA or NFL huge long term contracts will take the first risk on a year contract. It already seems Olhausen will take some play as the table provider since that's waht was used in the Sigel/Jones match and I can't see why a Pepsi or Mountain Dew wouldn't want to jump on board seeing the serious intent of this tour.

Just look at the advertisers the PBA has scored after 3 tech investors purchased the PBA after it went bankrupt 5 years ago.

Miller Brewing Company
Dexter footwear
Banquet (ConAgra)
Cambridge Credit Counseling
GEICO
Jackson Hewitt Tax Services
Odor-Eaters
Pepsi Cola through 2009!
Bayer
Baby Ruth
Brunswick
Wild Turkey Bourbon
Uniroyal
Denny's

That's a seriously nice list and something they got with less then a 1 rating on ESPN!

Right now top pool matches have got a .49 rating and thats with little advertising, promotion and without the help of a Morris Agency or any PR firm.

Kevin has put together a serious production company and the best PR and talent agency, so you would almost have to think on any cable channel the IPT would get a 1 rating and that would get some notice from the outside world, not a lot, but better then bowling and I think it can pull a 1.5 or 2 and that would just be an amazing leap for pool, If by some miracle you get some sort of reality/pool programming and get to a 3 rating then the networks like UPN or WB might show some interest and then it would be off to the races and you could see twice as many tournaments and double the amount of payouts!

Who knows maybe a network will take the plunge right off the bat! I know as far as cable goes OLN is trying to compete with ESPN so thats a cable channel that would seriously look at pool and maybe offer a nice contract to the IPT!

All I know is with this team and serious intent to make a run, the IPT ahs all the potential in the world and I can't possible see it not doubling the lousy .5 rating on ESPN and surpassing the PBA's rating for sure.

Pool can beat bowling on TV, I have all the confidence in the world that can happen!

I can see the player interviews now...

"I just lost the IPT 8-Ball Championship, but I do have good news... I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to GEICO!"

I can see ...

Someone like Budweiser getting onboard.
Maybe a Hotel/Motel chain.
Maybe a restaurant chain.
Maybe Jack Daniels (we can only hope ... lol)
How about a shoe manufacturer (I wrote Reebok about coming out
with billard shoes)
How about a clothing line just for the pro Pool player.
Of course, they would probably pick up from the billiard industry too.

A guy playing Earl in the IPT the guy is doing outstanding, making crazy shots.....

Earl says, who are you? are you even a tour player?

the guy: No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I love those:D

That's not exactly what he has said, what he actually said is, "It has budgeted in 2006 over $15 million in sporting event sponsorships, the majority of which may go to the International Pool Tour. "

"May go to the IPT". are the operative words. He is looking into getting into sports sponsorship but mostly he is looking to promote his products through sports. He may even get into poker who knows but pool I have a feeling once he get a taste of how lucrative other sports can be, because they are going to be testing the waters with other sports, could end up on the back burner. Take your pick of almost any sport and it has a bigger draw then pool. I think bringing in other sponsorship may be it's only chance trying to get it on a money making basis. Regardless what people would like to believe, I doubt he plans on just paying out of his pocket forever.
