Stacked Leather wrap installation question

I have completed my first two stacked leather wraps. The one thing that I felt needed improvement was the taking down of the wrap when first installed where it meets the forearm and the butt sleeve. I cut just a little bit to much so it is not precisely flush.

What are some of the methods you use? The video shows the method of taking the Tiger Tina blade and trimming the leather while the cue is stationary.
Thanks,
Pat J

Pat. I use a very sharp blade layed flat on the finish of the cue and rotate the cue by hand. The cutting edge is at a very slight angle to the end of the wrap channel. The blade must be very sharp. I sharpen mine every time before trimming the wrap. If it is not sharp enough the cut will be a little choppy looking. Once trimmed I tape the finish and sand down the wrap flush with the cuts. Just like everything it may take a couple times to get it down. Chris

I spin the cue and cut it down just the same as I do a tip. I use a utility knife and cut it in about 1 inch from the edge. I then sand the centre down to meet each edge.
