What would be involved in staining a Birdseye forearm on a cue? Would it need complete refinish?new wrap?etc. The cue is in good condition, with 4 points and leather wrap.

The cue would need to be stripped and then refinished. The wood on most cues is sealed before the finish is applied. This could possibly cause problems with the new stain because the stain may not take to the wood evenly causing some areas to get darker than others. A new wrap is always a good idea with a refinish.
