Spent 9:30 to 4:30 at Stan's place yesterday. We spent the morning working on some stroke, stance and footwork tweaks along with Stan sharing a few of his favorite drills. Stan's overall knowledge and understanding of pool is off the charts. What he gave me in the morning was more than worth the trip. We drove down the road and had a great lunch at this little BBQ place while Stan shared some Hal Houle stories.
We spent the afternoon focused on Pro One. We spent time on shots where the distance between CB/OB is less than 12", edge to A/C and edge to 1/8, identifying which visual is correct, banking and English. Stan threw in other very helpful things along the way. It was more like CTE/Pro One 201/301. One thing that Stan identified will really help me on the ETA, ETC and 1/8 was eye dominance. He figured out I was seeing the edge to x with one eye (depending on right/left cut) and then seeing the line with the other eye. This was really screwing me up on these shots.
Stan is a gifted teacher and just a really great person. I learned a ton and had an incredibly fun time. If you love the game of pool and have a strong desire to improve, you absolutely should plan a trip to see Stan. I guarantee you'd learn a ton, improve your game and have a great time. Thanks so much Stan!
