Standard 4 piece butt vs C4+ vs P3

Hello everyone,

I am in the market for a new cue and I am currently strongly considering the Sports 2 series by Predator. They come with a standard 4-piece butt as opposed to the C4+ technology or P3 technology most of their other cues come with.

Should I avoid the Sports 2 and spend the extra 300$ to get a butt with C4+/P3 technology or the difference is gonna be negligible enough that I can go with the Sports 2 without really noticeing anything different?

My understanding is that Standard 4-pice < C4+ < P3, but how major? Is it game changing or will I be perfectly happy with my Sports 2?

If it matters at all, it would come with a Z3 shaft with a soft tip.

Thanks!
Sam

Can't really tell you much about the differences as I only own the 8k4 which uses the C4+. There might be some truth to their claim about the cue being more rigid and the technology allows for a straighter shot but to me it's all marketing bs. I bought the 8k4 because I fell in love with the looks. The combo of the micarta & turquoise inlays and the stain on the wood is what really sold me.

Buy the cue that caught your eye and the one that you constantly think about. I had to take several loses before I wound up with the 8k4. I first bought an LE3 thinking it would be good enough but I just kept thinking about the 8k4. Sold the LE & then bought a Mezz Axi-N. I still kept looking the 8k4 so I decided to sell the Mezz (still for sale btw) and took the plunge to get the 8k4. Now I'm just focused on playing & improving my game. I do have to say that the LE & Mezz are great players but I just wasn't satisfied with the looks...GL with your decision-making.

Technology in the butt is BS and is indicative of how gullible the buying public is.

Buy a butt you like the look of, that you can afford and is balanced how you like.

No 'technology' in the butt is ever going to cause you to make a shot you would have otherwise missed.

Hmm

I have the LE3 which is a standard full splice. Hits like a dream and doesnt have the unilock pin. I prefer the radial.

Bob Danielson makes a 6-pie laminated butt with a purplehart core , this in combination with his SS360 shaft makes his cues one of the best ( if not the best ) hitting cues out there .

Do as i did , any many others . Forget about Predator and ask Bob Danielson to make you a cue , you won't regret it .
