Stepper Motor Replacement

In a previous post I asked about a replacement stepper motor for a Chinese cnc for inlays. This is their 6040 cnc with a water cooled spindle.

The motor that is an exact replacement would be a NEMA 23, 57, 2 phase, 3 amp, 1.5N CM. I can find others that have a higher or lower N and perhaps the amps would be 2.8.

I have searched Ebay, looked on Alibaba and unless I want to order a number of them and pay $120 per for shipping, there is not much hope fr an exact match.

Can anyone suggest a replacement stepper that could be used? Finally, would I have to replace the other axis motors to complement the new one? The one that is not operating properly is on the Z axis.

Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a few of the 57bygh405a steppers and they are very close to your specs. How many wires are yours? The Nm is the holding torque, so even if the Nm is larger, that's ok, just don't go smaller

Dave, they are 4 wire motors with an 8 mm shaft.

Could the amps be 2.8?

Okay, Big questions, does your motor have a part number on it? If so, please post as that helps. If not, then where are you getting the specs from? proper info is very important with these.
If your shaft is 8mm, that is .314" so you would need to replace the couplers if using a .250" shaft. They are cheap on ebay. You maybe able to buy one that goes from 8mm down to .250" or close and the bore it to the right size. The amp rating on the ones suggested are 3.0 amp, again, like the Nm number, bigger...ok, smaller.... not ok, as long as your power supply can handle it.
Hope this helps,
Dave

Info came from Ebay ad regarding the machine. Assholes removed info on motor before it was installed. Thanks for the info regarding the couplers. I will continue to seek a replacement.
