Storing a stick - no AC

I live in Jamaica, where electricity costs prohibit using ac in a house all the time. I have an original Balabushka I keep in Miami, Florida in a house with AC, stored upright in it's case, in a dark closet, interior wall. I have a table here in Jamaica and am thinking of bringing down my Bushka to use and keep here for a while. The humidity is not that bad down here (I have no clue about how to measure it). On a hot day it may get to the 90's but my house isn't that hot as it's well ventilated, insulated slab roof, all concrete. Would my Bushka be safe to store here? It is 50-60 years old with no warpage. I keep my cheap Helmstetter in my pool room, never in a case, on a wall rack, no warpage there...

I'd like to enjoy my stick (it is/was for sale but I hear now is a bad time for these collector items). If you guys say it should stay in the ac'ed house in Miami, I guess it'll have to stay put...

I wouldn't risk it. Keep it in a climate-controlled environment.
To test humidity levels in the house, get a hygrometer. Just b/c it says it is 50% humidity doesn't mean it is. Buy one that you can do a "salt test" on to calibrate.
If you feel like the Bushka just needs some table time send it my way and I'll take it over to Sharpshooter's or New Wave for ya.
 
Sad to hear, and you deal in cue materials so you prob know ur stuff...but sorry man, she doesn't go anywhere without me. I play at Shooters when I'm in town. It's for sale at a decent price if you want and then you can use it anytime!
 
The fact that I've had cues on the wall in this room since November, not in a case, on a rack on the inside of an exterior wall, and they're not warped in the slightest, wouldn't this be a sign it should be safe? I have a friend who keeps his cue in his case in this room and his is fine also. I have the cue for sale on ebay now, if it doesn't sell I might as well keep her and take her to Jamaica and enjoy it.
 
The "exterior wall" bit doesn't hold much sway with me here.
There's a big difference between being inside an air-conditioned home and being in a non air-conditioned one. Humidity levels will vary greatly between the two.
Wood moves as it changes environments due to the humidity levels. One guy even mentions that not even 50 year-old wood is immune to it- http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=280042 Sometimes the wood goes back straight after it warps; sometimes it doesn't.
But hey, it is your cue. If you want to gamble and can sweat the possibility that the Bushka may warp, losing a few thousand dollars in value- go right ahead.
 
You grow up as a kid, hope to have a table in your house, even end up owning a Bushka, and then never get to use it on your home table. I suppose life could be worse. Thanks for that link, I'll leave the Bushka in Miami. Sure hope my two jd's I have on the way don't warp cause, cause I'm bringing those home.

the investment value doesnt merit the risk
unless you have enough discretional income
(you live in jamaica and own a house in miami
just sayin)
if thats the case and its value or loss of doesnt matter than i say

I'm not rich, it's my brothers house in Miami and as much want to say screw it, just do it, after reading that post elbeau put in this thread, it's pretty scary. Even if I could afford to ruin a bushka, which I can't, it's irresponsible and almost sacrilegious for me to take that chance. At least in the summer!
