Hello Everyone

I would like to share with you the birth till completion of my Titlist. As i could not find someone to take some decent photos and my photography skills sucks, I though i will just use the photos that were sent to me by Jerry Rauenzahn to tell my story.

The story begins from the acquisition of my 1 piece full splice titlist whose wood was so yellow looking that it was mistaken to be a yellow heart. But eventually after turning down it turns out to be mahogany.

Judging from the label, it was identified as a prewar antique titlist. So if anyone knows better please let me know what you know lest I go around embarrassing myself telling everyone just that. For those looking to have a titlist conversion made, try to get one that is 1 piece. It will give the cue maker alot more options to maintain the full splice and the length of the points. The prewar titlist seems to have more even veneers and very even points.

The first stage of the construction, i had it made into a simple 4 point cue with szamboti ring work on a half steel joint 5/16-14 thread. With it were 2 custom 314-2 predator shafts made from blanks and thus has no logo. The cue is 59 inch in length 29.5 inches each half.

Black leather wrap. The cue felt good in my hands. Well balance. Nice firm hit typical of a full splice. The taper on those 314-2 felt nice too. Overall a satisfying feeling cue.

I decided that this would be the cue for me and sent it back for an up grade. I am old fashioned. I like old school designs with elegant embellishments without being too loud or to fancy. Hence I chose a simple mother of pearl gunsight inlay for the forearm and barbell inlays for the butt sleeve.

I was very happy at first when i got the cue! but alas, a slight imperfection in the alignment made me feel that the cue is not all that it should be. Hence the cue maker was contacted. He was not at all please with his work and offered to rectify the problem. To me that was the most encouraging attribute that i can find in a cue maker. Hence the cue was returned yet again for a make over.

Eventually we decide to have veneer windows inlaid over the barbell to rectify the problem. And i must add it actually turns out much nicer then before and more then i expected.

The material used for the gunsight point and the windows are micarta. In time it will yellow and age appropriately. Hence this it the cue as it is now. Looks good feels great and plays well.

This is the story of my titlist. It does have the original shaft with the buck horn ferrule made as will with matching joint rings. Hence this cue is with 3 shafts. 2 predators that i play with and the original that i kept mint.

Do you like my cue?

with the finish that doesnt yellow that micarta might not turn yellow with no air hitting it. are you looking forward to it turning? alot of ppl love that material but i dont bc it turns yellow. i am crazy about my ferrules not being white

I was hoping it will turn yellow in 5-10years time.

I have seen some old Joss with Micarta joint that is now yellowish in color. Though they are probably 20 years old.

I named my cue Nemesis.

The lettering on the cue idea came from your this very cue! I wonder if Szamboti does it the same way.

i think gus used a panograph not a decal but i guess its the same. i know i made the name for your cue but then i gave the entire machine to the cuemaker
