Stout Cue Case Who makes them?

Who makes these cases as they look like a complete knock off to the JB cases?
They are made by an OEM company that does a lot of knockoffs.

They do look like JB cases. If you trust the "look" to protect your cues get one

If the inside isn't made right and your cues get damaged then the few dollars difference in price won't matter anymore.

I have taken one apart and I wouldn't trust it to protect my cues.

Problem is how to stop counterfeits. It’s a endless thing-like the war in drugs. Seemingly endless.

Building a better product and loyal customers is about the best way to win.

People will buy counterfeits because of price.

Visit any Mexican Border town, the shop sell counterfeit designer knock off bransds. Why because tourists buy.

On the beach of Rocket Point BC Mexico, peddlers are selling counterfeit Cuban Cigars. Tourist buy because they think they are real.

You can never stop it unfortunately. When I had my business, I thought I had to get every customer. I believed in the quality and high standards of my company, so it drove me crazy if someone left unhappy or went with the competition. Then I came to realize you can't please everyone. Not everyone appreciates or values the same things. Once I began focusing on the people that appreciated the value of the service I provided and washed my hands of those that did not, I became much more satisfied. Give everyone the knowledge and work with those that see the advantages you provide. Put the rest behind you and wish them well...

I can drive 12 miles to downtown LA and get all the fake goods I want. Sadly. I think they supply the boarder haha. It’s a disaster and seemingly getting worse.

By their nature cue cases are very easy to knockoff. Same with designer bags etc. The knockoffs rarely if ever are as good of quality but their price point is the reason for their existence. Why pay the same for a knockoff? Never gonna happen. That’s a huge hurdle to go over for the real manufactures.

I’ve never bought a fake anything ever once in my life. It’s a 24/7/365 lie far as I’m concerned. Wear a fake Rolex you are lying to who ever sees it. Fatboy don’t roll like that. I’d rather not have a Rolex than a fake one. And one step farther. After market diamonds in Rolex usually aren’t considered a bad thing. Bullshit I call on that. My diamond Rolex are all factory diamond watches. They are 5X or more than after market-but I don’t do fake stuff. I either get the real deal, or I pass.

Almost impossible for any company without deep pockets and highly dedicated legal team. LV for example is quite litigious and has been known to send people undercover deep into counterfeiting operations. As a result the counterfeiters of LV products tend to be very very secretive and only the lowest quality makes it to the streets. Some LV counterfeits are so good that the main workshop in Paris has a difficult time telling that they are fake until they disassemble the goods.

Exactly. I learned my lesson when the big distributors screwed me when I had Instroke. Less than a year after taking on my brand they were selling knockoffs in the same catalog and I was helpless against them. Now that I am not in any way financially bound to these unscruplous outlets I can expose what they sell and let consumers make their choice.

Part of the issue in the billiards industry is that there is no consumer reports and no consumer advocacy. The larger companies such as the one bringing in the "stout" brand knockoffs know full well that they are 99% worry-free from any sort of litigation or price-war. They can defraud consumers by presenting knockoffs that "imply" by their appearance to be the same and let consumers think that the originals and the knockoffs all come from the same factory. While I know that for some folks a JB case is a prestige item for me it's about protection and performance. So when a person buys a knockoff it is my opinion that most are not trying to act like they got a JB Case but instead feel like they are getting the same protection and quality for less. I have seen people brag about buying the knockoff brands using those very words.

To date, there has only been one instance of actual counterfeiting that I have seen where someone used one of our brands to defraud consumers and it was perpetrated here on AZB's buy/sell forum. The more common form of fraud happens when sellers of knockoffs claim without any proof at all that their goods are just JB Cases without the logo. Some have been dumb enough to claim this in print and I have squashed that when I have seen it. But I know that they keep doing it just not in public view. There is no shortage of straight-up criminally-minded assholes in pool who don't care one bit about being truthful as long as they can make a few bucks moving shit products that don't cost them much to get.

And the industry itself is led by the most egregious perpetrators so the smaller companies getting ripped off have no industry support.

At a Trade Show in Houston years ago the BCA sold a 50 booth block to a company that brought over dozens of smaller manufacturers and trade agents who normally wouldn't be able to coordinate or afford a trip to a USA based trade show. That block was FILLED with knockoffs. But one of the most ironic was a bad copy of the BCA Rulebook. Set right at the front entrance. I mentioned this to the BCA while ticking off the list of other knockoffs there. 30 minutes later the handbook was gone. But all the other knockoffs stayed.

The billiard business is a literal license to steal and from the local trunker on up to the biggest names in the business there are plenty who make full use of the unregulated opportunity to screw over their customers.

I know that copies are going to happen. I take inspiration from what has come before sometimes as well. What I don't do is deliberately create shit and claim it's chocolate cake. That's what the product ripoff artists do in the pool world. They do it because it's easy money with almost no downside for them.
