May 19, 2013 (Englewood, CO): On Saturday, May 4th, Str8 Shots Darts & Billiards hosted its final junior qualifier for the 2013 season for the upcoming Junior National 9-Ball Championships. They drew another 24 youth to the weekend’s festivities held alongside a $3,000 Added Open Event for the adults.
Of the 15 kids in the 14 & Under division, top honors went to 14-year-old Tyler Casey (reigning champ from the Colorado Springs event), Hunter Stoops, and Mason Hoffman. In the 18 & Under division, 18-year-old Geoffrey Quezada defeated Josh Bustos in the finals, while Taren Stewart settled for third. The three 18 & Under boys were also awarded academic scholarships courtesy of Str8 Shots in the amounts of $300, $200, and $100 while the 14 & Under top finishers all received trophies.
