Straight Shot Drill

was wondering what you posters out there thought of this drill? Diana Minor was the first to show me this, thought about going back and working on it for awhile tonight.

it tests your ability to align/set up straight, aim straight, and shoot straight. tape off (with the skinny little white tape, not sure what its called) two straight lines on the table, going into the corner pocket. leave about 1" to 2" inches between the lines. set up with the object ball about 2 feet from the corner pocket, right in the middle of the lines. the cue ball is 2 feet from the object ball, straight in.

then practice the follow shot, stun shot, and draw shot. and make sure on all 3 shots the cue ball stays between the lines. this should give alot of feedback as to what your tendencies might be. as you gain confidence you can lengthen the shot to whatever you feel comfortable with.

thoughts?
anybody ever try something like this?

I do a progressive warm-up practice as follows.

)END

Cue ball always at corner.
First 1 ball, then 2, 3, 4, and then 5. The 3 ball or center is the most difficult.

Then I will shoot draw with the object ball at the 4 ball position and the cue ball at the 5 ball position. The ob should go into far corner and cb draw back into near corner.

Then same positions, but follow. Both ob and cb should go into far corner pocket.

Advanced (will not build confidence any since it is almost impossible) is the following combo shot...

START(

)END

sounds good to me

Sounds like a good idea if you ask me, and in a way you did LOL

To do this and draw the ball you will have to be accurate on where you hit the cueball, and thats something we could all work on.
